We’re Breaking Down the Barriers to a Law Degree

Earning a law degree should be about more than generational wealth or social status. At San Francisco Law School, our tuition is about half the price of many other private law schools, and we offer financial aid and scholarships to qualifying law students. This provides students with the opportunity to complete their law degrees, despite financial limitations, and helps add more diverse voices to the legal profession.

Prioritize Your Education Without Sacrificing Other Responsibilities

No matter where you are on your personal or professional journey, our part-time law program allows you to pursue your degree on a more relaxed timeline than traditional full-time law schools. Whether you have a full-time job, a family at home, a community that needs your help, or other commitments, our four-year part-time program empowers you to pursue your goal of earning a law degree while managing your other responsibilities. Courses meet in the evening and on the weekends, providing you with the flexibility necessary to balance all of your commitments.

Learn Relevant Skills From Practicing Attorneys and Judges

Most of our faculty are practicing attorneys or judges, so they bring real-world experience and modern perspective to the classroom to prepare our students for today’s legal landscape. Our students enhance their educational experience through various hands-on, practical, skills-based courses, fieldwork and internship opportunities, as well as an updated curriculum geared towards better preparing students to take successfully passing the California State Bar Exam.

“I truly believe the professors at SFLS are world-class instructors and dignified attorneys. They are the best role models a law student can have.”

Accreditation

San Francisco Law School is a part of Alliant International University, an institution accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and is approved by the U.S. Department of Education for financial aid.

San Francisco Law School is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California and has been continuously accredited since California accreditation began in 1937. Students who graduate from one of our law programs are eligible to practice law in the State of California upon passage of the California Bar Exam.

Study at, or graduation from, these California law schools may not qualify a student to take the bar exam or be admitted to practice law in jurisdictions other than California. A student who intends to seek admission to practice outside of California should contact the admitting authority in that jurisdiction for information regarding its education and admission requirements.

For information related to the school’s bar examination passing rates, visit the CalBar website.

Notice of Probationary Status through August 31, 2023

*This law school has been placed on probation by its accreditor, The State Bar of California, through its Committee of Bar Examiners, due to reporting a five-year cumulative bar exam pass rate (MPR) of 36.0 percent for 2020 and 39.0 percent for 2021, when a minimum of 40 percent is required under Rule 4.160(N); the law school must raise this MPR to 40 percent or more by July 1, 2022 or the law school’s accreditation may be terminated. On August 19, 2022, the State Bar of California’s Committee of Bar Examiners extended SFLS’ probation through August 31, 2023. If the law school’s accreditation is terminated, the law school will be required to apply for and be granted registered, unaccredited status before it can continue to operate. See current MPR statistics for all accredited law schools on the State Bar’s website.
